Levinas, Emmanuel
(1905-95)
   French philosopher, of Lithuanian origin. He became head of the Ecole Normale Orientale of the Alliance Israelite Universelle in Paris, and taught at the University of Paris at Nanterre. His writings include De I 'existence a Vexistant, En decouvrant Vexistence ave Husserl et Heidegger, Totalite et infini, Difficile liberte and Quatres lectures talmudiaues.
